Myanmar is situated between the fastest growing countries, India and China. The immediate neighbors with Myanmar are Thailand and Laos in the east and Bangladesh in the west. Myanmar is land bridge of India to ASEAN Region. Despite Geography Location and proximities, the origin of cultural relations between India and Myanmar can be traced back to 241BC, King Asoka. Since then, India-Myanmar relation has prevailing with cultural linkage, Buddhism Pilgrimage, and People to people contacts. During the pre Independence period,  Rabindranath Tagore visited Yangon in 1916 and 1924. Tagore describes the Shwedagon Pagoda was gladdened and responsive, there was no solitude, but there was privacy, no silence, but there was peace. Mahatma Gandhi visited Myanmar three occasions in 1902, 1915 and 1929.The first prime ministers of Myanmar and India, U Nu and Jawaharlal Nehru who were both democrats and had similar outlook on politics, a shared vworld view and a common sense of history. General Nay Win paid 11 official visits to India from 1959 – 1984. India Ghandi visited Myanmar in 1969.  After eighteen year long, Rajiv Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India undertook an official visit to Myanmar in 1987.  The current VVIP visits are as follows;
